"Margin Call"

When Eric Dale played by Stanley Tucci is abruptly fired from his job at a Wall Street investment bank in 2008, nobody listens to his warnings about an impending financial meltdown. But junior analyst Peter Sullivan  reviews the figures and finds they check out. He calls in his cocky boss Will Emerson, who in turn summons his superior, Sam Rogers played by Kevin Spacey. Panic sets in as the enormity of the situation becomes apparent. Finally, CEO John Tuld arrives by helicopter at 2am. Crisis meetings continue through the night as they try to work out how to save their skins before the markets find out what's going on. First-time writer/director J.C. Chandor serves up a frighteningly plausible account of the disastrous consequences of the 'greed is good' mantra, with terrific ensemble performances.
