Steve Wall to join The Rock Report for one week
Steve Wall will be joining Marty Miller on The Rock Report for one week starting the 24th of January.
Steve Wall has penned some of the best-known songs in Irish rock music: Brewing up a Storm, Romeo’s on Fire, Half Past Two and To the Bright and Shining Sun to mention just a few.In the late 1980’s, after a stint working with the Druid Theatre company in Galway as an actor, sound operator and assistant stage manager, Steve formed The Stunning. In 1990 their debut album Paradise in the Pictureouse spent 5 weeks at number one and The Stunning became one of the most successful Irish bands throughout the mid-nineties releasing three multi-platinum albums before they split in 1994.
Following a two-year stint with a major label in London, brothers Steve and Joe formed The Walls in Dublin in 1998. They started their own record label Dirtbird Records and released their debut album Hi-Lo in 2000. A support to U2 at Slane Castle in 2002 helped the album reach gold status in Ireland. In 2005, their top five album New Dawn Breaking was released and contained the band’s biggest hit-single to date, To the Bright and Shining Sun. New Dawn Breaking was critically acclaimed and since it’s release the band have toured in America, Australia and Europe. Steve and the rest of The Walls have just finished the band’s third album which is due for release in the US in spring 2011.
