67-Year-Old Man Dies In House Fire

A 67 year old man has died in a house fire in Dublin.

The fire broke out in Lissadell Drive in Drimnagh at around 9 0′ Clock last night. Four units of Dublin Fire Brigade and an ambulance attended the scene.

The man was brought to St James’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.It is understood he died of smoke inhalation. Nobody else was in the house at the time.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, although it is not thought to have been a major fire. The house is in a terrace, but no other property is believed to have been damaged.

Emergency services had reached the home in less than five minutes. Gardai do not believe the fire is suspicious but are investigating.
