Adolescence star Owen Cooper features in the music video from Sam Fender, Little Bit Closer.
The video which you can check out below, also sees Cooper who starred alongside Stephen Graham in the hit drama, reunites with Adolescence director Philip Barantini. Adolescence is based on the story of Jamie, a young boy who is arrested for the murder of his classmate, Katie. Stephen Graham, played Jamie's father, Eddie.
"To have the opportunity to direct another video for Sam was an immediate yes - an absolute no-brainer for me!", Barantini said. "Not only is Sam an incredible artist but he’s a beautiful human and a great friend! Also, the opportunity to direct Owen again so soon after Adolescence was an absolute joy!".
The video shows Cooper with a group of friends on a camping trip along the Lake District, where his character quietly "contemplates questions of faith".
Geordie singer Sam Fender can also be heard saying in the video: 'It’s so great to be working with Phil again, I had no doubt he was the right director for this piece, his video for Spit of You was my favourite".
"Phil called to say he’d asked Owen if he’d like to be in the video, and that Owen was keen. I was elated that he could do it after seeing his incredible performance in Adolescence".
Little Bit Closer features on Fender's latest album, People Watching, which arrived on February 21 this year. Not long after its release, it emerged that Fender's album had outsold the entirety of the UK Top 40 combined. More on this from Nova here.
