Ant McPartlin Released Following Drink Driving Arrest

Ant McPartlin has been released from police custody after being arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The entertainer and one half of the TV duo Ant & Dec was detained yesterday after reportedly failing a roadside breath test.

His black Mini collided with two other vehicles. Eyewitnesses say the 42 year old seemed to loose control of his car after driving around a roundabout in Richmond, south-west London at around 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon.

He is understood to have been in the car with his mother at the time of the incident.

Others involved in the crash were treated for minor injuries at the scene, however a child passenger in one of the other cars was taken to hospital as a precaution for a check-up.

A spokesman for met Police confirmed a 42-year-old man had been taken to a south London police station for questioning.

He remained there for around 10 hours until his release in the early hours of this morning.

The Saturday Night Takeaway presenter was later seen arriving back at his home in Chiswick, west London at around 2.40a.m.

Although he has now been released he is still under police investigation in relation to the incident.

McPartlin entered rehab last year due to an addition to painkillers. Months later he announced his divorce from wife Lisa Armstrong after 11 years of marriage.
