Aslan have confirmed the new date for their headline gig in Dublin.

The band will now take to the stage at Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday March 18, with all purchased tickets from the original date remaining valid.

Aslan were due to perform at the venue for their anniversary gig on 17 September, but were forced to postpone, after frontman Christy Dignam suffered a setback to his health.

Dignam was diagnosed with a blood condition called Amyloidosis in 2013.

“Christy, Joe, Alan & Billy are beyond devastated to have to share this news with you”, the band said in a statement at the time. “We are working to find a new date at 3Arena, so do hold on to your tickets, as they will be fully valid for the rescheduled date”.

“love and support”

Back in September, Aslan also thanked fans for their support, amid Dignam’s health and the cancelled show.

“We want to thank everyone for the love and support you have shown Christy, Joe, Alan and Billy.. it’s been a really tough week for them all, especially Christy but we will be back soon and we will have a new date for our 3Arena show and it will be even bigger and better”, they tweeted.

“looking forward to seeing you all”

Since then, Aslan have confirmed that they will be able to honour these tickets, and take to the stage in March.

We firstly want to thank you all, for your continued support and understanding. We want to apologise for our gig dates being rescheduled to 2023, but as always, we have to prioritise Christy’s health and well being. He has been through a tough time, they said.

“We also want to thank you all, for your continuous well wishes and positivity you are sharing with Christy and ourselves… “, Aslan continued. “We are so looking forward to seeing you all at 3Arena for this extra special gig!”.

“On behalf of everyone in Aslan… Thank you all so much!!”.
