Beatles Producer George Martin Dies Aged 90

Legendary producer George Martin died yesterday evening March 8th at age 90. As of now the cause of death is not yet known.

Martin was known as the “The Fifth Beatle” as he produced most of the bands early tracks. Since the news of his passing Ringo Starr has led the way with tributes to the legendary producer.

Ringo tweeted out after the news “God bless George Martin. Peace and love to Judy and his family, love Ringo and Barbara. George will be missed.”

Adam Sharp Martin’s manager, who represented him and his son Giles broke the news of his passing. He said “We can confirm that Sir George Martin passed away peacefully at home yesterday evening, Tuesday March 8th. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support.”

He continued “In a career that spanned seven decades he was recognised globally as one of music’s most creative talents and a gentleman to the end. The family ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”

C A Managment would also release a statement speaking about his career in the music industry “Sir George started producing records for EMI’s Parlophone label in 1950,” adding that “He would later sign The Beatles in 1962 and, with the band, helped revolutionise the art of popular music recording.”
