Bruce Dickinson is to star in an ABBA-inspired horror movie, ‘Bjorn Of The Dead’.
The film is to see the Iron Maiden frontman at the centre of the project, and written by his son Austin.
As well as writing, Austin is also co producing the film alongside Andrew Prendergast. A chip off the old block, Austin Dickinson is also the lead vocalist for London bands, Rise To Remain, and As Lions.
Based on Prendergast’s, original story ‘Bjorn Of The Dead’, focuses on an ABBA tribute band who get trapped in a nightclub, along with other tribute acts, just as the apocalypse begins.
Bruce Dickinson Starring In A “crazy adventure”
Shooting for this movie is to begin next year, with Austin saying that he was “honoured” to be working on “this crazy adventure”.
“Andrew, Elza, and myself can’t wait for you guys to see what’s in store,” Austin said. “Get your spandex on, preen your wigs, and sharpen your axes. Bjorn is coming”.
Prendergast also added, “We are thrilled to be making this blood-drenched gore fest from Austin’s super funny, terrifying, cautionary tale about the inner workings of the music industry”.
Bruce Dickinson is set to star in ‘Bjorn Of The Dead’, alongside a host of household names from rock music. No further names have been confirmed at the time of writing.
New of Bruce Dickinson’s involvement comes after the Iron Maiden frontman also announced plans for a new solo record.
The new album, ‘The Mandrake Project’ also marks Dickinson’s first solo release in 18 years.
Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards had previously said that the band were “bound” to have their own hologram style show, inspired by ABBA.
