Details of a new bill are due to be published by the Minister for Justice in the coming weeks.
The proposed legislation, which is due before TDs and senators before the summer break, is expected to extend venues’ opening hours until 6am.
A report from the Night-time Economy Taskforce also recommended additional 24-hour bus routes in Dublin, and improvements to bus services in other cities.
