Smashing Pumpkins Comeback

Smashing Pumpkins have shared a new song “Knights of Malta”. The recently revamped Rockers (sans bassist D’Arcy) will be dropping there new record next week. It’s the first album from the original existing lineup of frontman Billy Corgan, drummer Jimmy Chamberlain and guitarist James Iha in almost 20 years.

The Shiny rockers have already released the single “Solara” which sees the band hark back to their rockier moments while “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” revisits the sublime pop of their ‘1979’ days.

The 8 track offering of “Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1” has been produced by Rick Rubin and the 45’s to date signal somewhat of a return to form. Now, the group has dropped another single entitled “Knights of Malta”.

The sweeter side of the Pumpkins comes through on this number. Replete with Violins, Corgan sings lyrics that serve as a mission statement by the enduring guitar warriors, “We’re gonna make this happen/ I’m gonna fly forever.” Check out “Knights of Malta” below.

Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. is out on November 16th. The group continues their mammoth jam-packed 30th Anniversary tour.
