Patients are being told to expect significant disruption to the health service today as support staff go on strike.
10,000 of them have downed tools for the next 24-hours as part of a pay dispute.
The biggest impact will be on surgeries, inpatient procedures and outpatient procedures.
Catering is also affected – with some hospitals serving soup and sandwiches rather than a full meal.
But some workers on the picket line will be making sure patients are properly fed.
