Met Eireann’s offered their first weather forecast in Ireland for Christmas eve and Christmas day and it’s looking like it’s going to be cold but settled.
The forecaster has announced that high pressure will build towards Ireland for Christmas eve and Day with an increased possibility of dry, chilly and settled weather.
Today, however, it will be largely dry with just the odd shower with fog lingering in the morning. Some sunshine will develop during the day with temperatures reaching highs of 8C.
Friday night will begin dry with clear spells but some showers will develop and clear as the night goes on.
Met Eireann said: “Temperatures will drop close to freezing towards dawn, giving some frost and the risk of ice on roads. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees in little or no wind.
“Saturday is looking largely dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees in light breezes.
“Some showers on Saturday night in the west and north overnight but generally dry elsewhere and with some frost. Minimum temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees.”
