Dublin's First Baby Born Just Minutes After Midnight

Correction: Ireland's first baby of 2020 was born just 12 minutes after midnight.

Her mother, Patience Setuke delivered the girl in the Rotunda Hospital and she weighed just over 7lbs.

As well as being the South African woman's first child, the newborn girl is also the country's first of the new decade.

Another girl was born in Cork University Maternity Hospital at 22 minutes past midnight.

Children were also born before 1 o'clock this morning in Galway, Waterford and Tipperary.
