The European Commission has announced its plans for a digital certificate which will allow for travel to take place this summer.

The cert can be used as proof that a person has been vaccinated against covid, has received a negative test result or has recovered from the virus.

Confirming the news on Twitter yesterday, European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, said;

“Today we strengthen the EU Commission’s response to COVID-19 with:

  • Digital Green Certificates for free and safe movement in the EU
  • A common path to a gradual, safe, and lasting re-opening”
