Radio Nova’s Help Our Homeless Radiothon 2016 ambassador Cillian Murphy reveals his love for music and the role it plays in his acting.

Cillian Murphy joined Dee and Marty on Morning Glory to help launch our ‘Help Our Homeless’ Radiothon in aid of Focus Ireland.

Cillian Murphy has worked with Focus Ireland for several years saying that “they are a fantastic charity. Homelessness is a problem that is very, very visible in our cities around the country and you can’t really escape it so it’s something that I thought I’d help out with. The Radiothon is a great idea, very proactive and that’s the kinda thing I like to support”.

The ‘Help Our Homeless’ Radiothon will be taking place on the 17th and 18th February when Radio NOVA aims to raise €40,000 for the homeless community in Ireland. This will be the second Radiothon Radio NOVA has held with last year’s hugely successful event raising over €30,000 in a two day pledge donated entirely by listeners and businesses throughout Dublin, Kildare, Meath & Wicklow.

Cáit O’Riordan played bass guitar for the British-Irish punk/folk band The Pogues from 1983 to 1986. She later played with Elvis Costello, her husband from 1986 to 2002, as well as several other projects. She joins Sinéad Ní Mhórdha for a chat on Backstage.

Rich Robinson is an American musician and founding member of the rock and roll band The Black Crowes. Along with older brother Chris, Rich formed the band in 1984 (originally called Mr. Crowes Garden) while the two were attending Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia.
At age 15, Rich wrote the music to what would become one of the band’s first singles; “She talks to Angels.”

Dick Taylor is an English musician, best known as the guitarist and founding member of The Pretty Things. Taylor was an early bassist for The Rolling Stones but left the band to become an art student at Sidcup Art College. Whilst there he formed The Pretty Things in September 1963.
