Florence + the Machine

This song is Florence + The Machine’s first music offering since 2015’s  How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Rumours had suggested ‘Sky Full of Song’ would be dropped today April 12th. Florence and co will also release the song for Record Store Day.

‘Sky Full Of Song’ is a gentle mellow and minimal number backed by a tasteful black and white video. It’s available to watch below.

In a statement, Florence said of the tune,’This was a song that just fell out of the sky fully formed, Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it’s hard to know how to come down. There is this feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly outwards and upwards, and wanting somebody to hold you still, bring you back to yourself. It’s an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling.’

It’s been reported that Florence has been working on the record with producer Brett Shaw, who worked on 2015’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. As revealed by Spanish music blog Binaural, the official website of London’s Miloco Studios claims that Shaw spent a large part of 2017 working on the new Florence album.
