Chris Cornell’s widow, Vicky has confirmed that a Volume 2 follow-up to her husband’s “No One Sings Like You Anymore” is in the works. Just what she promised in December!

This record was first released in December 2020. It contained 10 cover tracks from the late Soundgarden frontman. He passed away aged 52 in 2017.

This record is a collaboration between Vicky Cornell, her children and the Chris Cornell Estate.

“All Chris, from beginning to end”

Now, Vicky Cornell has confirmed a follow up record of tracks covered by her husband Chris is on the horizon. She described it as “all Chris from beginning to end”.

“There is a volume two”, Vicky told “The Rizzuto Show” on the 105.7 The Point Radio Station.

“The thing with this volume one, though, that makes it special is that he mastered it, he sequenced it, this is all Chris from beginning to end”, Vicky explained

She also added, “And the other one was mastered, not sequenced, volume two”.

“Not in completely finished form, but there’s enough to work with, and the Cornell stamp is all over it. So that’s really special. So there’s a lot of music”.

“A complete work of art”

Vicky Cornell also hailed this album released in December as a “complete work of art”. It is a record that included Chris Cornell’s covers of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U”, Janis Joplin’s “Get It While You Can” and “Watching The Wheels” by John Lennon. All artists that influenced Chris as a musician.

At the time, Vicky said, “This album is so special because it is a complete work of art that Chris created from start to finish”.

She added, “His choice of covers provides a personal look into his favourite artists and the songs that touched him. He couldn’t wait to release it. This moment is bittersweet because he should be here doing it himself, but it is with both heartache and joy that we share this special album”.

“All of us could use his voice to help heal and lift us this year, especially during the holiday season. I am so proud of him and this stunning record, which to me illustrates why he will always be beloved, honoured, and one the greatest voices of our time”.

Guns N’Roses also said that during their “Not In This Lifetime” Tour, they have rocked out a few tunes, paying tribute to Cornell. See that report here.
