Foo Fighters recently recorded a handful of new songs as they were in Austin, Texas. The band were in town to play at the Austin City Limits Festival and took time out to record a few songs in the city.
Dave Grohl addressed the crowd during their gig in Zilker Park on Friday night. Grohl said “You know what I did last night? We recorded five f**king new songs in your beautiful city of Austin, Texas.”
The Foo Fighters frontman also stated that he teamed up on the tracks with singer-songwriter Ben Kweller, who he later welcomed onto the stage to duet on the song ‘Big Me’. Grohl said “Just by chance, I bumped into an old friend that I hadn’t seen in about 16 years, right as I was recording a vocal.”
Grohl added “Then he starts f**king singing the most beautiful harmony to the thing I was singing. I was like, ‘Get your ass in the vocal booth right now.’ And then he said, ‘Hey, if you want, I’ll come up and sing a song with you tonight.'”
