The Lidl on Fortunestown Lane has been robbed –   just over a week before it is due to reopen.

The store infamously had its roof torn off by a JCB before it was looted last March, forcing the supermarket giant to close the shop and rebuild it.

Gardai are investigating and say no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson said: “Gardai in Tallaght are investigating a robbery that occurred in a food supermarket in Tallaght on Saturday the 11th August 2018 at approximately 6.30am. A large amount of copper piping and wire removed from store. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.”

The supermarket is still set to reopen next week.
