Garda Arrested After Alleged Theft At Garda Station

A Garda member has been suspended from duty after a supposed theft that took place in a Garda station.

The member of  An Garda Síochánais reported to be a probationer aged in his 20s. According to Breaking News, the Garda was arrested on Thursday evening in Dublin.

The incident is believed to have taken place at a Garda station located in the south of the country. The outlet reports that the young Garda is accused of the theft of a small amount of money from a wallet.

The money had been handed into the Garda station where he works, yesterday. Assistant Commissioner, Special Crime Operations, John O’Driscoll is directing the investigation.

The Garda is presently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 in a Garda Station in Dublin.

An Garda Síochána have not revealed any further information with regard to the identity of the Garda member and investigations are continuing.
