Gardai Investigating Deaths Of Three Children Awaiting Toxicology Report

Gardai investigating the deaths of three children in their home in Newcastle, Co Dublin say they are awaiting the toxicology results.

The bodies of 3-year-old Carla McGinley and her brothers 7-year-old Darragh and 9-year-old Conor were discovered on Friday.

Post mortem examinations were carried out on the bodies of the three McGinley children yesterday. Gardai say for operational reasons they will not be publishing the results.

On Friday night, the bodies of 3-year-old Carla and her brothers Darragh who was 7 and 9-year-old Conor were found in their home at Parson’s Court in Newcastle Co. Dublin.

A woman who is aged in her 40s and thought to be the mother of the children is still receiving treatment at Tallaght University Hospital today.

No arrests have been made in relation to the children’s deaths.

A book of condolences was opened this morning in St. Finian’s Church in Newcastle, where mass was also held for the children.

Tusla says it has activated its critical response procedure will be offering support through schools, counseling services, family support services, and local groups in the area.
