Gardai are treating as suspicious the death of a man who’s body was discovered in a flat in Kevin Barry House on Coleraine Street in Dublin 7, which may have also been there for several days.

The body was found yesterday evening, and it’s believed there were other people in the flat when Gardai arrived.

The locum State Pathologist carried out a preliminary examination this morning, while a post mortem will take place later today.

At this stage the man’s age and identity has yet to be established. A number of people were present in the ground floor flat when the discovery was made.

This morning, the Garda Technical Bureau carried out an examination before the body was removed earlier today.

Officers conducted also door-to-door enquiries while the scene remained closed off. A post-mortem is to take place this afternoon.

A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a man at a residence in Kevin Barry House, Coleraine Street, Dublin 7, at approximately 6:20pm on Monday, 12th September, 2022.
