Gardaí Probe Fatal Assault Of Man in Finglas

A man has died after being assaulted in Dublin. He was attacked in Finglas just after midnight.

Gardaí and the emergency services were called to reports of an assault outside a home on Dunsink Green in Finglas just before half past midnight.

A man in his 60s had been assaulted – he was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene at Dunsink Green has been sealed off for a technical exam and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

No arrests have been made.

Gardaí in Finglas are investigating and are asking anyone with information to come forward – particularly anyone with video footage or drivers with dashcam footage who may have been in the area at the time.

A family liaison officer will be assigned to support the victim’s family.

Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are particularly appealing to those with video footage and motorists who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact them.
