Gary Neville Hits Back At Noel Gallagher Following City-United Jibe

Gary Neville has hit back at former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher over his taunts following Manchester City’s recent Premier League title win.

This happened following City’s fourth league triumph in a row last weekend, and Gallagher did not hesitate to fire a passing shot in Neville’s direction.

Neville enjoyed a stellar playing career with the red half of Manchester, winning eight Premier League titles as a player with Man United.

“Gary Neville, at this moment in time”, Gallagher said last weekend. “I wonder how he’s feeling”.

“you live in London”

Responding to these jibes, former Man United captain Gary Neville told BBC Manchester: “He’s been a big part of Manchester’s history, but he lives in London. Do you know what I mean, don’t talk about Manchester, you live in London”.

He added: “You live in Knightsbridge, or wherever it is, Hampstead. You can’t start talking about Manchester. 25 years he’s not been here! He comes once a year for that trophy parade, I saw him on Sunday actually. Honestly. I’m good Noel, thanks!”.

Neville’s comments come after Man United beat their arch rivals in the FA Cup Final at Wembley over the weekend. First half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobee Mainoo secured a 2-1 victory over Man City, despite a late reply from Jeremy Doku.

This victory meant that Man City were denied the League and Cup double win, having won the treble last year.

It is also not the first time that Noel Gallagher has been locked in a somewhat war of words with a household name over football issues, having clashed with Blur frontman and Chelsea fan Damon Albarn following the London side’s victory over Man City in the Champions League final in 2021.
