ATTENTION ALL HUMANZ!!! Virtual beat keepers, Gorillaz have announced a 20th anniversary reissue of their self-titled debut album, along with demos, B-sides and live recordings.

The incoming Gorillaz (20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Vinyl Boxset) is set to be jam-packed with goodies to accompany the original album. Fans can indulge in collection G-Sides, and a previously unreleased vinyl of dub and reggae remix album, Laika Come Home.

Beefing up the already rammed collection are fancy extras such as a live recording of their 2001 London’s Kentish Town Forum gig. While a 27-page DMC dossier of “leaked documents, memos, faxes and some early Jamie Hewlett drawings, assumed lost in a fire” finishes off the collection. Find the full tracklist at the Gorillaz  website.

Fans can preorder a first edition Gorillaz boxset here, which is set to be released for a limited run on December 10th, 2021. The boxset celebrates the iconic album, which turned 20 on March 26th, with a wider release to follow in Autumn 2022.

Speaking highly of the amazing debut album, Gorillaz drummer Russel Hobbs said: “Whistles have been blown. Truths have come to light. What started out as a trip down memory lane took a damn sideways turn into the heart of darkness. They say the past is another country. Turns out, it’s a whole other dimension.”

Gorillaz fans are certainly in for a treat this year as cinemas are due to release the Gorillaz 2020 livestream, Song Machine Live. The show had been recorded at their London-based Kong Studios HQ and features music greats such as New Order’s Peter Hook, The Cure’s Robert Smith, and many other collaborators.

Screening for one day only on December 8th, the show will feature Gorillaz performing live, as well as a cinema-exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette. Live From Kong will be accompanied by unseen interview footage and commentary from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. Tickets are on sale November 11th and you can grab yourself some from here.
