Proud supporters of Radio Nova and The Colm & Lucy Breakfast Show insuremyvan.ie are helping promote the ALONE Coronavirus Helpline.
Open seven days a week, 8am-8pm, on 0818 222 024, ALONE has received more than 5,500 calls.
ALONE is the national organisation that helps older people in need and the charity says the increases in calls is due to the fact that cocooning measures have been introduced to protect the most vulnerable from Covid 19.
Cocooning is a measure to protect people who are over 70 years of age or those who are extremely medically vulnerable by minimising all interaction between them and others.

Operating in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Health Service Executive (HSE), ALONE is adding further staff members to answer phone calls to meet the increasing demand and the Helpline is being promoted on Radio Nova and is appearing on Virgin Media 1, 2 & 3.
A huge thank you to @InsureMyVan_ie for their support in sponsoring our new TV advert to promote the ALONE Coronavirus Helpline, appearing on Virgin Media 1, 2 & 3; and to Bonfire Design for creating it. This will bring awareness of the support available into homes nationwide. pic.twitter.com/GqoH0yIOiq
