Actors from Home And Away have paid tribute to former star Dieter Brummer.

Brummer was found dead in his home in Sydney last weekend at the age of 45.

He featured on the show for 157 episodes as Shane Parrish from 1991 to 1996.  He also appeared in Neighbours, Underbelly and Winners & Losers.

“His death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner”, New South Wales police had said.

“a lovely kind, genuine person”

Lynne McGregor who playes Irene Roberts on Home and Away led the tributes to Brummer via her Twitter account. She also urged people to “reach out”.

“So very sad. Please reach out. Ask if people are doing ok. And tell someone if YOURE not ok!”, she wrote.

“Yell over the fence, call ,msg, Facebook, whatever it takes. I’m no expert but surely sharing your fears, anxieties, dark thoughts must help lessen their impact. God bless DB fly high”, she added.

Co-star Emily Symons who played Marilyn Chambers on the show took to Instagram to pay tribute to Brummer.

“I can’t believe this absolutely tragic news”, she wrote. “Dieter was such a lovely, kind, genuine person. I always enjoyed working with him”.

“I will never forget his beautiful smile, he was a much loved member of our Home and Away family. Thinking of his loved ones at this difficult time”.

“Incredibly sad news”

Another Home and Away star Georgie Parker also paid tribute to Brummer via social media.

“Such sad news, such a lovely man and a good actor too”, he wrote. “Much love to his family and loved ones at this terribly difficult time”.

Brummer also appeared as Troy Miller in Neighbours. The programme’s official Instagram account had this to say.

“Vale Dieter Brummer, joined the Neighbours alumni in 2012 as Capt Troy Miller. Our thoughts are with his family and friends”.

Neighbours star, Scott McGregor who played Detective Mark Brennan on the show also took to social media.

“Rest In Peace old mate. Such a special human. Ill never forget our motorbike weekend”, he wrote.

While, Derry Girls writer and creator Lisa McGee wrote “Incredibly sad news about Dieter Brummer. I have such fond memories of watching him play Shane in #HomeandAway”.
