A homeless man has been found dead in Temple Bar in DublinHis body was found on Adair Lane in the city centre at 2 o’ clock this morning.

Councillor Christy Burke represents the North inner city on Dublin City Council. He says the government is not getting to grips with the situation;

“It’s some mother’s son. It’s some person that shouldn’t be dead this morning – that’s the bottom line and this will continue.”

“Please, please government address the appalling homeless and housing crisis in this city..Don’t tell us what you’re going to do – show us.”

He is the sixth homeless person to die in the last two months. In September, a 26-year-old man was found dead in emergency accommodation in Dublin.  His death came days after a 27-year-old mother of two in Kildare died in the hotel she had been housed in.

A former chef in his 50’s died in hospital after being found unconscious on Suffolk street in the city centre. A man in his 40’s was found dead in Bray – he’d been sleeping in a tent on the Boghall Road. A woman in her 30’s was found dead in Cork also last month – she had been sleeping in a tent in the city.
