Housing activists claim the Residential Tenancies Board is acting with a ‘conflict of interest’.

The ‘Take Back The City’ group are occupying the RTB’s D’Olier Street offices in Dublin this afternoon.

The group say that members of the RTB who have property interests should not be allowed to make decisions within the board.

Michelle Connolly from ‘Take Back The City’ says they are not leaving until they meet with board members:

“Several people who are on the RTB and who sit on the tribunals are landlords and they have property interests – so it seems like a conflict of interest – so we want to hihglihgt that and to let them know that that’s not acceptable – we ewant an independent renters board set-up.”
