The brewery making Iron Maiden’s beer are having to work a six-day week to keep up with demand, according to reports.

Over 100 countries have applied to stock the band’s special cask ale, according to The Sun, and Cheshire family brewer Robinsons, where the ale is being made, is brewing three batches a day for the first time in its 175-year history. Over a 250,000 pints have been pre-sold in the UK alone ahead of the May 9 release. Robinsons’ David Bremner said: “We haven’t spent a single penny on advertising. This is history in the making for brewing.”

The 4.8 per cent strength Trooper ale will also be available at this year’s Download festival, where Maiden headline on June 15. It is named after the track ‘The Trooper’ taken from Iron Maiden’s 1983 album ‘Piece Of Mind’.
