Iron Maiden mascot Eddie has just been revealed to be getting a Funko Pop makeover.  The famous toymakers will be making their first foray into the digital toy market by transforming the long-living icon set into a digital Pop! NFT (non-fungible token) next week.

The release is set for September 30 featuring 44 different versions of Eddie of Iron Maiden fame being made available. The company announced the launch alongside a teaser video showcasing just a few of the styles that fans can collect.

In an interview with Billboard, Funko CEO Brian Mariotti said: “We are huge Iron Maiden fans here at Funko and couldn’t be more excited to have our inaugural music Digital Pop! NFT be music icon Eddie.

“Iron Maiden and Funko fans alike appreciate creative genius in music and pop culture. Now, they can celebrate both in digital form.”

The NFTs will be available for digital purchase in packs of five and 15 Pops!,  starting at US$9.99. Sales of the Pops! will be limited to a run of only 24,000 packs.

Physical Pops! of Eddie have previously made available alongside the likes of Fall Out Boy, Motorhead, AC/DC, and Green Day.

Earlier this month the group dropped their 17th studio album, ‘Senjutsu’. NME reviewed the album saying that the band had revisited “elements of past successes along the way”, calling it “an instant classic in Iron Maiden’s 41-year journey”.
