Foals New Album Release Has Been Confirmed!

David Layde By David Layde - November 8, 2018

Foals have taken quite a protracted break from the limelight after completing the ‘What Went Down’ tour. Now, a fifth record from the band is definitely on the cards for a 2019 release.

Although a precise release date remains unclear, the group's publishers Transgressive have confirmed that Foals’ fifth record is set for a 2019 release.

In an interview with NME back in July 2017, Philippakis told the publication,

'We’re in the marinating stage of thinking about getting onto the next record. We have a couple of bits written but it’s in the very early stages. We’re in the conception stage, we’re not pregnant yet, we’re just trying to have the kid.'

Several social media posts have shown the band hard at work with synths and bespoke electronic gear. Which seems to suggest an electronic inspired offering from the band. Back in June, the band teased studio shots that showed Philippakis at work in the studio.

With the record now getting a 2019 release, a tour seems very likely as it stands the group are down for a handful of festival appearances for the 2019 season.
