Gallagher claims he’s changed his debauched ways and as a result his voice has started to lose some of the gravelly tones that he is famous for. Speaking to Sirius XM via NME Gallagher explained,

“I know for a fact when I have not had cigarettes and not drank and have been behaving myself I sound a bit square. And I do not like that. I like to sound a bit rough and have a bit of character.”

Even though he has adopted a healthier lifestyle he’s not going fully TeeTotal,

“I do behave myself a little, but not too much. I don’t want to sound like Aled Jones or Michael Bublé.”

Gallagher once revealed to the NME that booze had affected his performance at the band’s legendary Knebworth shows.

“At Knebworth I thought we were doing one night, and we were doing two.”
