Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie have teamed up with current Fleetwood Mac guitarist and Crowded House leader Neil Finn for a new charity single.

The New Zealand Herald reported the track, called “Find Your Way Back Home” was “written about Auckland, New Zealand’s homeless to help raise money for the Auckland City Mission’s new building on Hobson St.”

Stevie Nicks said in a statement: “I’m honored to be a part of Neil’s song for the Auckland City Mission. He is on a mission to make this work and I think this beautiful song he has written will certainly help.”

Finn, speaking to the Herald from his home in Los Angeles, said the song was partly inspired by an encounter he had at the city mission with someone from his childhood.

He had met the person briefly at his brother’s birthday party and was rattled to find him at a homeless shelter a few years ago.

Neil Finn, who embarked on a solo career following the dissolution of Crowded House, has been performing in Fleetwood Mac since 2018, following the exit of Lindsey Buckingham. Crowded House were scheduled to perform reunion tour dates in the United Kingdom later this summer; those dates have since been rescheduled to 2021 in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

During the lockdown Neil has been going live with Elroy Finn and Liam Finn his sons on “Fangradio” a sort of live radio station of Neil’s you can find on his website. They pull from the archives, play covers and take requests.
