Live Aid is 40 this year and a new 4-part documentary is coming to mark the anniversary.
Live Aid: When Rock ’n’ Roll Took On the World starts on July 13th the day Live Aid happened in London and Philadelphia.
Featuring interviews with Live Aid organizers Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, as well as U2’s Bono, Sting, and Phil Collins, along with what’s being described as “rare archival footage” of Live Aid performances and backstage.
The performances were watched by about 2 billion people in more than 100 countries.
First band out that day were Status Quo.
