Last night saw the draw for places in the last 32 of the FA Cup, but also the first competitive game in England using Video Assistant Referee technology.

While there were suggestions the ball hit Glenn Murray’s arm when bearing down on goal for his Brighton side – the referee was quite happy with the goal, not consulting the pitch side monitor.

Nonetheless, the goal secured the winner for Brighton at the Amex Stadium, booking their place in the 4th round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, where they’ll now go on to meet Middlesbrough.

Moreover, Yeovil Town set up a meeting with Manchester United, while Tottenham will travel to Newport County and Liverpool will host West Brom at Anfield.

Meanwhile, the League Cup semi-finals kick off tonight with Manchester City entertaining Bristol City.

The championship side travel to the Etihad Stadium, having beaten Manchester United in the last round, kick off is at 7.45pm.
