It’s been revealed that Rock musician Lou Reed is recovering in hospital today after a liver transplant.
Reid’s liver had failed as a result of years of drug abuse. His wife, singer Laurie Anderson said in April before the operation that Reid was dying.
The 71-year old founder member of the Velvet Underground has called himself “a miracle of modern medicine”.
