The pop goddess has been a contender to headline the bill at Worthy Farm next year for some time now. According to The Sun newspaper, Madge is among the first to be booked during Glastonbury’s downtime for its fallow year.

Speaking to the press sources said, ‘Preparations are already well underway after they’ve taken this year off, and Michael and his daughter Emily Eavis want to make it better than ever. They have always been massive fans of Madonna and know she would put on an unforgettable show.’

It seems that diversity coupled with securing a big female act is paramount for the festival organisers this year, ‘It was really important that they had a diverse line-up for the 2019 festival after criticism of previous ones. With this being a fallow year they want to secure a really big name to drive ticket sales’.

The sun report concludes that owing to the pop legend’s, ‘huge hits, they are convinced that she would be a real crowd pleaser on the Pyramid Stage.’ Organiser Michael Eavis has never kept it a secret about his desire to book the Queen Of Pop . At the turn of the millennium when Bowie played, Eavis said,  ‘I would really like to get Madonna, I tell you that. I might spend a bit of time working on that actually… I’d be very keen on getting Madonna. That’s the one to do.’
