Two Gardaí Injured In Shooting During Siege In Blanchardstown

Gardaí have seized around six million euro worth of cocaine.

It is part of an international operation aimed at dismantling a major drug trafficking network.

The operation, is being described as one of the most significant crackdowns in recent years.

It involves various Garda divisions from across the country, as well as international law enforcement agencies.

The target of the operation is a criminal organization based in West Dublin, although other gangs involved in drug trafficking are also under investigation.

Gardaí believe the network has been using encrypted messaging apps to coordinate the trafficking of drugs into Ireland.

The use of these apps makes it more difficult for law enforcement to monitor communication.

The first phase of the operation took place last night in Co. Wexford, where Gardaí carried out several raids, resulting in the seizure of millions of euros worth of cocaine.

As the exact quantity of drugs is still being confirmed, the haul could be worth around 6 million euros.

The seizures have dealt a significant blow to the drug network, with Gardaí describing it as a major victory in the ongoing war against organized crime.
