Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s following an attempted armed robbery on January 1st.
The incident took place at a public house on Firehouse Road, Tallaght when a man entered a premises just before midnight armed.
The male threatened staff and demanded a sum of cash before he was challenged by three people on the premises and subsequently arrested by Gardaí.
The suspected firearm was recovered at the scene and has been sent for technical examination.
The suspect is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
