A man arrested in connection with a murder in Co. Louth can be held until 8 o’ clock this evening.
A 57-year-old Elzbieta Piortrowska was found dead at her home in Clonmore, Ardee yesterday morning.
The 32-year-old was arrested just a number of hours after the discovery of the body of a Polish woman at around 11:30am.
He’s being held at Drogheda Garda Station and availed of a rest period overnight between 12am and 8am.
The suspect, who is known to the victim, can be questioned up until 8 o’ clock this evening.
The body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda last night, where a post mortem is ongoing.
The crime scene and three other locations of interest remain sealed off as examinations conclude.
