A Man Has Been Charged With The Murder Of Cameron Reilly

A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of Cameron Reilly. The body of the young college student was found in a field in Dunleer in Co Louth in May. A man out walking his dog discovered the body of Cameron Reilly in a field in May.

The 18 year old business student at Dundalk Institute of Technology had been out socialising the night before. A post mortem revealed he had been strangled. This morning 18 year old Aaron Connolly of Willistown, Drumcar, Dunleer appeared before Drogheda District Court charged with murder.

Detective Sergeant Feargal O’Toole told the court the accused made no reply when charged at Drogheda Garda Station yesterday evening with the murder of Cameron Reilly at Shamrock Hill, Dunleer on the 26th of May. Judge John Coughlan asked if the defendant was over 18 and was told he is.

Mr Connolly was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court in Dublin via video link next Thursday. The 18 year old, who was dressed in a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, looked visibly upset during the brief hearing.
