Gardaí have made an appeal for witnesses after a man in his late 80s was stabbed at his address in Co Louth.
It’s reported the attack occurred this afternoon, Saturday, after an altercation with another man.
The man was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda. The elderly man’s condition is understood to be serious.
Gardaí and emergency services arrived to the scene of an incident at Sandy Lane, Blackrock at around 2:50 pm.
A technical and forensic exam of the attack scene has taken place. No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
