Man To Face Trial For Allegedly Sending Dirty Videos To Dun Laoghaire TD

A Limerick man accused of sending Fine Gael TD Jennifer Carroll MacNeill sexually explicit videos via Facebook has been sent forward for trial.

Gerard Culhane, of Marian Place, Glin, Co Limerick, appeared at Dun Laoghaire District Court today charged with harassing the Dun Laoghaire representitive between January 13 and March 26, 2020.

Outlining the allegations in court today Detective Sergeant Rachel Kilpatrick said 19 communications were sent via Facebook messenger.

They included three videos of “sexually explicit content.”

There were also 14 texts with general conversation about upcoming events in Deputy Carroll McNeill’s life, along with emojis and kisses.

Judge Ann Watkin today sent him forward for trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on January 27. Mr Culhane has not yet indicated how he will plead.

He must sign on once a week at a local garda station, live at his current residence, and he must have no contact directly or indirectly, including via social media, with the TD.
