A man who spent more than $12,000 to be Kiss' Gene Simmons' roadie for day, insists that he has no regrets.
Dwayne Rosado, a retired corrects officer, spent $12,495 on a package supplied by Simmons, known as the 'Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience' package for his current solo band tour. This deal allowed one fan the opportunity to join the rocker's road crew for a date as part of this tour.
The tour itself began on April 3 in Anaheim, wrapping up May 24 in Houston, with one such chance to be Simmons' roadie available per show. More on this here.
Despite the seemingly huge expense, Dwayne Rosado, who brought his son Zach along for this experience, insisted that it was worth it, every single dime spent.
"You only live once, and I want to experience life. I’m not going to die with a lot of money. I’m going to die happy", Rosado told the New York Times.
This experience also saw Simmons introduce father and son onto the stage, and also included a soundcheck with the band, a meal with Simons, as well as a roadie experience and backstage access.
"It felt awkward, because I have a whole crowd in front of me, and all I wanted to do is hug him. I didn’t care about anything else that was going on", Simmons said. "Nothing can beat tonight. It’s cemented in Kisstory now, because it’s going to be on YouTube and everything else. So I’ll get to look back and see that moment forever".
It was also reported that Simmons praised Rosado for his parenting of his son Zach, including keeping his son away from illicit drugs.
Simmons also faced some testing questions regarding to the seemingly extortionate price tag.
"There’s free market, supply and demand. People want to do it, you do it. You buy a Rolls because you want a Rolls, but a Volkswagen will get you there, too", he said.

Last month, Gene Simmons also admitted that his early success was simply motivated by "power and money". More on this from Nova here.
