Hollywood star Johnny Depp has been on the receiving end of significant scrutiny for some time over his personal relationships, but now he has received a public backing of considerable value from his buddy Sir Paul McCarthy‘s amid Depp’s court case battle with ex-wife Amber Heard.
79-year-old ‘Macca’ is on tour in the US and during a show he and his team flashed up a video image of the Pirates Of The Caribbean Star actor in the backdrop this week.
Depp was seen strumming a guitar in the clip, which was shared by model Jill Vedder, who is married to Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.
As Depp played in the background, Sir Paul was sat at the piano performing ‘My Valentine‘, as Depp and Heard’s case rumbles on.
However, according to reports Sir Paul has been using the footage of the actor at his shows for many years.
Depp, 58, is suing his former wife over a 2018 piece she wrote in The Washington Post in which she said she was a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.
Heard – who did not mention her ex or anyone else by name — is counter-suing.
The former couple tied the knot in 2015. However, Heard filed for divorce around a year after they exchanged vows and their divorce was finalised in 2017.
In 2020, actor Depp lost a libel case against The Sun over an article that called him a “wife beater“.
