A motorcyclist in his 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Westmeath.
It happened between a motorbike and a truck on the M6 between Moate and Athlone in the early hours of this morning.
The truck driver was uninjured.

The stretch of motorway is currently closed westbound between junctions 7 and 8, Moate and Athlone.
Diversions are in place while a forensic examination of the scene is carried out.
