A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the death of Kane McCormack.

The 24 year old was found shot dead on farmland in Co.Meath in December last year.

His death is believed to be linked to the Kinahan-Hutch feud.

Kane’s father Noel ‘Duck Egg’ Kirwan was shot dead in a Kinahan strike back at the Hutch clan.

Noel Kirwan was gunned down because he was spotted in the company of his childhood pal Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch at the funeral of Eddie Hutch Senior.

Kane had vowed vengeance for the murder of his father and was previously lifted for possession of ammunition earlier in the year.

An earlier hit was foiled by Gardai when the Special Crime Task Force fired into an alleged hitman’s car – that hit was intended for Kane.

The man arrested was detained in West Dublin yesterday morning and is in custody in Ashbourne Garda Station where he can be held for a maximum of seven days.

Gardai have also renewed their appeal for anyone with information to contact them.
