A man who was spotted wandering around naked in the street on Friday morning is reported to have told gardai that he had killed a mother-of-three in Co Mayo.
Gardai arrested the man after they were tipped off that the suspect had been seen wandering naked near the crime scene in Co Mayo, Ireland
Valerie French Kilroy was discovered dead at her home in the Kilbree area of Westport, Co Mayo, at around 10am on Friday.
According to The Mirror, sources informed the gardai that the man was wandering near the victim’s house naked and clearly distressed.
After he was arrested, he told the authorities that he was responsible for the mother’s death. Gardai then rushed to the scene when they realised her children were still there and discovered them all unharmed.
A source said via the news outlet: “Gardai in the area were alerted to this man walking around in distressed state.”
“He was arrested and taken to the Garda station where he claimed he had killed Valerie.Teams of officers were dispatched to the house immediately.”
