1. One of the country’s biggest trade unions will launch its latest bid to get rid of zero-hour contracts. Mandate claims more than 100K workers are employed using them. They’ve now written a charter that bosses can follow to give staff security over their hours and incomes.

2. Almost half of Irish people admit to having had sex without protection against an STI. A survey by Durex found less than a third are consciously doing anything to prevent getting sexually transmitted infections. That’s despite HSE reports of gonorrhea increasing by over 50% between 2015 and 2016.

3. The Transport Minister is to ask for cabinet approval today to extend Luas trams in DublinCarriages on the green line will go from 43 metres long to 55 metres, as part of cross city project going live on December 9th. It’s to facilitate the growth in passenger numbers – last year the two lines carried more than 34M people.

4. 7 in 10 pregnant women complain that people touch their baby bump without permission. They’re also unhappy with comments about their size and shape. The research from C&G Babyclub reveals that new mums are bombarded with conflicting advice, contributing to the pressure women feel to be the perfect mum.

5. Former England footballer, Trevor Sinclair, has been arrested again after being held for allegedly drink-driving. The 44-year-old was detained yesterday afternoon on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. He was first arrested on Sunday evening after a woman suffered minor injuries when she was hit by a car in Lancashire. He’s been released pending further inquiries.

6. Only 21% of people look forward to their work Christmas party. A recent study also reveled 28% of workers ‘dread it’. Research carried out by Town and Country Hampers claims 51% of people feel indifferent about the festive event.
